I have not been up to much. I have been substituting and tutoring a few former students in the afternoons. I really enjoy getting to spend time with them and help with their school work. About a week ago, I subbed for a pre-k class. I was really nervous going in to it because I have never taught pre-k before. I thought, this couldn't be too hard. Well I was right. The day consisted of dress-up, movies, snacks, and coloring.
Centers: dress-up
Although this day was obviously not stressful, it has been a little aggravating having to go to a different school almost every day, a different classroom, and a different grade. Hopefully come December, I will have a classroom of my own.
This past Saturday I went with a bunch of girls to watch football together. We went to my friend Katie's house. Everyone brought an appetizer and we ate all day. Needless to say, I was quite miserable that night.
I was very proud of us though, because somehow we managed to cook wings. Imagine: four girls, standing around the grill, cooking wings. We had many questions throughout the process, but used our best judgement and they turned out just fine.
"Can you say, heartburn?"
And last but not least, we had a graduation party for Franklin's brother at the Ledges Sunday. It was good to catch up and see all of his family. His step-mom had his diploma printed on a cake. Pretty cool.
Congrats Evan!
I am off to Tallahassee this weekend for my cousin Riley's wedding.
Have a great weekend!
Beat Ole Miss!
